I’ve just imported the old blog in to this one…which may or may not have been such a good idea.

Will now spend some time fixing the tags. Bear with me. This may take a while.

## UPDATE ##

Tags fixed in record time, due to Wordpress deciding to only import half of the posts. I know not why, nor do I particularly care to know anymore. If you’re interested, it missed Boro not winning…well, anything really for the past five years, me breaking one bone in my right foot and three in my left, several months of pootling about in plaster casts, potentially me saying Mr Obama would be Mr President, and general moaning about the state of the world. So nothing new there then. You may in fact consider yourselves lucky that you don’t have to sit through it all again. :-p

It's been a while…

Middlesbrough Badge…but I’m back. And so are the mighty Boro!!

The pre-season has been a bit hit and miss, and looked to have taken a turn for the worse against Hibernian today – Boro being 1-0 down within ten minutes of the start of the first half, and then 2-0 down at the same stage in the second!

However, it was not to be for Hibs, as a brace from Afonso ‘The Fonz’ Alves punctuated with a beauty from David Wheater gave us a glorious 3-2 victory!

UP THE BORO!!

Barnsley win again!

After defeating Liverpool in the previous round of the FA Cup, Barnsley have just taken down cup holders Chelsea 1-nil.

This is what the FA Cup is all about!

Let’s hope that the Boro don’t get upset tomorrow…wouldn’t that be a final…Boro v Barnsley at Wembley!

Liverpool 3 – 2 Boro

Middlesbrough BadgeWell, it was a good start with Tuncay scoring after 9 minutes to put the Boro ahead, but a hat-trick from Fernando Torres put paid to that. Stewart Downing scored in the 82nd minute to bring it to 3-2. And then Aliadiare was sent off!

Still at least we are better off than Arsenal’s Eduardo, who suffered a broken leg 3 minutes in, after a challenge by Birmingham’s Martin Taylor. I’m not keen on either team, so I’ll be an impartial voice here – the tackle was no worse than any other tackle in any other game today. It was an accident, that’s all – Arsene Wenger’s call for Taylor to be banned for life was ridiculous. Yes, very unfortunate for Eduardo, but this is the CONTACT SPORT you play. This is why the player’s wages are so high and the careers so short – not many play after 35, so they make all their money before that.

I certainly sympathize as I sit here with my broken feet – but I don’t feel Taylor should be subject to any ban greater than that imposed for a single red card. He’s gonna get enough stick every time he plays against Arsenal in the future – that should last him a lifetime. In any case, all reports suggest he was distraught over what had happened when he went back to the dressing room – if it was intentional, surely he’d be gloating!

Best wishes to Eduardo (even though you play for Arsenal…)

Welsh Wales, is it?

Middlesbrough BadgeThe Mighty Boro, following their impressive victory in two weeks time at home over Sheffield United (you know it!) will be facing Cardiff City in the next round of the FA Cup.

Unlucky Barnsley, after getting Liverpool in the last round, now have to cope with Chelsea!
